This tabbed board book introduces children to common Lunar New Year traditions through the eyes of Curious George, who is celebrating with his friend Mei。 The illustrations are cute and colorful, and the holiday elements will likely appeal to people both within and outside of the culture。 However, the rhymed text is inconsistent and sometimes feels forced, so I think this would be stronger if the author hadn't tried to rhyme。 This tabbed board book introduces children to common Lunar New Year traditions through the eyes of Curious George, who is celebrating with his friend Mei。 The illustrations are cute and colorful, and the holiday elements will likely appeal to people both within and outside of the culture。 However, the rhymed text is inconsistent and sometimes feels forced, so I think this would be stronger if the author hadn't tried to rhyme。 。。。more

A great kids’ book about Chinese New Year

I loved seeing curious George explore Chinese New Year and experience many of the customs and rituals that I grew up with! This book is delightful, inside and out。 The little tabs on the sides are charming, as are the illustrations throughout! I appreciated that the author rooted this book in Chinese New Year but also acknowledged that Lunar New Year occurs in many other countries around the world。 I’d be happy to recommend this to any fan of Curious George!

This is a great book to learn more about Chinese New Year and its traditions and history。 Kids and parents are introduced to the unique customs of Chinese New Year and experience them along with Curious George and his friend Mei。 As kids grow older, they can still read the book and understand more about the holiday, and may even want to try some of the food or activities that the book shows and describes。

WOW。 I wish I had this book when I was a little kid, and also as a parent when my own kids were little! What could be more fun than Curious George or Chinese New Year? How about the two combined? Brilliant! What a clever idea to introduce Curious George to the Chinese New Year, thus teaching the child (and possibly, adult) about this cultural time of year。 No need to be embarrassed, George wouldn't have to be aware of the customs as he is a monkey, after all。 And of course, he is curious, and the children listening to the story will be wondering the same things。 I am happy to see this multicultural Curious George book is published and can now be included in the holiday sections of classr Brilliant! I hope it will be added to libraries everywhere。 。。。more
